A lot of firm work still lives in Excel. With this integration connected, Filed can read the workbooks your Microsoft account has access to. Ask a question in Chat about a client's numbers, or set up a Routine that reviews a workbook on a schedule or in response to a trigger.
Read access is always enabled. Write access is a separate switch in the connection settings, so Filed only creates or changes workbook data after your firm approves it. Files stored in OneDrive or SharePoint keep their existing permissions.
How it works
- Pull workbook information into Filed Chat
- Automate recurring workbook checks with Routines
- Prepare approved updates when Write access is enabled
- Keep a read-only connection for reporting and analysis
Ask Filed, in your own words.
Starting points for this connection. Swap the bracketed details for your client and your dates.
Summarize the Microsoft Excel information for [client name] for [date range].
Find items in Microsoft Excel that need review before [deadline].
With write access enabled, prepare the approved Microsoft Excel update and show the proposed changes first.
The questions firms ask us
You sign in with a Microsoft account and approve consent. Filed can then read the workbooks that account can access, including files in OneDrive and SharePoint.
Only if Write access is enabled in the connection settings. Read access is always on, so you can keep the connection read-only and enable Write later if your firm approves it.
Filed only sees what the connected account can see. Check that account's file permissions in OneDrive or SharePoint, then reconnect if the wrong account was used.
