Client memos, checklists, and working notes often live in Google Docs. With this integration connected, Filed can read the documents your connected account can open. Ask a question in Chat, summarize a document for a client file, or set up a Routine that handles repeatable document work on a schedule.
Read access is always enabled. Enable Write in the connection settings only when Filed may create or modify documents, and review proposed changes before you finalize them. Documents stay subject to your existing Google Drive sharing permissions.
How it works
- Pull document information into Filed Chat
- Automate repeatable document work with Routines
- Prepare approved updates when Write access is enabled
- Keep a read-only connection for reporting
Ask Filed, in your own words.

Summarize the Google Docs information for [client name] for [date range].
Find items in Google Docs that need review before [deadline].
With write access enabled, prepare the approved Google Docs update and show the proposed changes first.
The questions firms ask us
You sign in with the authorized Google account, approve permissions, and return to Filed. The docs recommend verifying access with a non-sensitive document first.
Only when Write access is enabled in the connection settings. Read access is always on, so you can keep the connection read-only until your firm approves document changes.
Documents remain subject to Google Drive sharing permissions, so Filed only sees what the connected account can open. Share the document with that account to make it available.
