# Filed > Filed (filed.com) is an AI tax review and preparation platform for mid-sized and high-volume accounting firms. It reads client source documents (W-2s, 1099s, K-1s, brokerage statements, trial balances, prior-year returns), prepares the return, and reviews it line by line against those documents. Firms keep the tax software they already use: CCH Axcess, Lacerte, Drake, and ProConnect. Filed is a software company for tax professionals. It is not a consumer tax filing app, and it is not related to court, legal, or corporate filings. Formerly known as Numiro. Filed does the analytical work so the CPA can do the judgment work. Every figure Filed enters or flags is traced back to its source document, and the preparer and reviewer stay in control of the return. The core difference is document-first checking. Tax software checks whether the math on a return is internally consistent. Filed checks whether the numbers match the source documents. A preparer can type $15,000 instead of $1,500 and the tax software will not flag it, because the math still works. Filed catches it. ## Products **Filed Prep** reads the client's source documents and prepares the return in the firm's tax software (CCH Axcess, Lacerte, Drake, or ProConnect), in batches or line by line through Prowork. It has 100% form coverage across all supported return types, and data entry takes under 3 minutes per return. Teams start from a prepared return with every figure tied to its source, instead of a blank form. **Filed Reviewer** is the quality check between preparation and sign-off. It compares the source documents with the draft return line by line and produces a ranked list of issues, each one cited to the source page. Firms using it report 64% shorter review cycles and 42 minutes saved per return. **Filed Tax Planner** analyzes the completed return and source documents, evaluates more than 120 tax strategies, and produces a client-ready tax plan with citations, what-if scenarios, and implementation timelines. **Prowork** puts Filed inside the tools the team already works in: a sidebar in the tax software, plus plugins for Excel, Google Sheets, and Outlook. It reviews inline as the preparer works. Prowork builds protocols from the firm's own preferences and rules and applies them to every return. About 35 pre-built skills ship with it. **Filed Binder** builds a tax binder for each client as documents arrive. Every file is named by payer and account, sorted in return order and checked against the others, with missing documents and mismatches flagged before anyone starts the return. Every finding links back to its source page, and the team marks up, ties out and signs off in the same place, so the binder doubles as the workpapers. **Analyst** answers questions across the firm's whole client base, from the documents clients sent. Ask who is still missing a K-1, who will owe, who needs an estimated payment or which clients a new rule hits, and get the answer as a table, spreadsheet or document to export or save to the client. It can compare K-1 income across a client's related entities or add up QBI across an owner group without setting up a consolidated client. **Tax research (in Analyst)** answers technical tax questions from live sources instead of model memory, so current-year rates, thresholds, phase-outs and safe harbors come back with citations to the Internal Revenue Code, Treasury regulations and IRS guidance. Typical questions cover SALT, QBI and child tax credit limits, estimated tax safe harbors and underpayment penalties, bonus depreciation and Section 179, and material participation, short-term rental and passive loss rules. Because Analyst already knows the firm's clients, the follow-up is one message: which of my clients does this affect? It can also draft a research memo, a client explanation or a statement to attach to the return. **Filed MCP** connects Claude, ChatGPT, and custom AI agents to a firm's Filed workspace (binders, prep, leadsheets, review, and planning) with the permissions the firm already set. ## Supported return types 1040 (individual), 1065 with K-1 (partnership), 1120 (C-corp), 1120-S (S-corp), 1041 (estates and trusts), and 990 (exempt organizations). Filed supports all of these return types for both prep and review, with 100% form coverage. It is not a 1040-only tool. ## Supported software - Tax software: CCH Axcess, Lacerte, Drake, and ProConnect - Practice management: Karbon, Canopy, Truss, Financial Cents, and Verito - Productivity: Excel, Google Sheets, and Outlook (through Prowork) - AI assistants: Claude, ChatGPT, and custom agents (through Filed MCP) ## Accuracy Filed scores 94% line-by-line accuracy on TaxCalcBench, an open benchmark for tax return calculation. Filed treats that as a minimum bar, not a replacement for professional review. Every preparer and reviewer gets access and every Filed product is included. There is no per-seat, per-return, or per-credit charge. The specific price is set on a discovery call. ## Security and compliance SOC 2 Type II compliant, audited annually by an independent firm, with SOC 2 and ISO 27001 reports available under NDA and a SOC 3 report available. ISO 27001 certified. GDPR and UK-GDPR aligned. Client data is processed and stored on U.S. servers only and is never used to train AI models. Each firm's data is isolated from every other firm's.
